Direct Patient Support
- Be a peaceful presence
- Offer companionship

- Watch movies or television
- Read, create art, or play music with the patient
Caregiver Respite
- Assist with light errands
- Do light housekeeping
- Help with meal preparation
- Care for family pets
Special Skills
- Assist with ground/landscape maintenance
- Provide notary services
- Offer barber or beautician services
- Perform music
Administrative Support
- Data entry and filing
- Answer phones
- Prepare Mailings
Volunteers cannot provide feeding assistance, transfer or transport a patient or family member, give medications, assist with personal care, provide counseling services, or offer advice. Most importantly, volunteers are never asked to do something they are not comfortable doing.
