Volunteer Requirements
Eden Hospice volunteers are selected, supervised, and supported by the Volunteer Coordinator and other Eden Hospice team members.
The following is required by all of our volunteers before entering our program:
- Completion of our Volunteer Education Program
- Passing a background check
- Tuberculosis (TB) Test for volunteers interested in direct patient support.
Volunteers cannot provide feeding assistance, transfer or transport a patient or family member, give medications, assist with personal care, provide counseling services, or offer advice. Most importantly, volunteers are never asked to do something they are not comfortable doing.
We do not require previous medical training or a medical background. Apply below or contact us to learn more.
At Eden Hospice, we focus on caring rather than curing. We believe through effective and compassionate care, patients can approach the end-of-life with dignity and comfort. Our team-centered approach puts the patient and their loved ones at the head of the team.
