Home Care Services
In-home, personal care services can help you remain safe, independent, and engaged in life by providing assistance with these activities. Professional caregivers can provide ongoing assistance with what are commonly called Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as:
- Toileting & Incontinence Care
- Transferring and Positioning
- Dressing, Grooming, Bathing & Hygiene
- Assistance with Feeding
For those who live alone, have declining mobility, or who are somewhat isolated from other family members and friends, companion care services can be a wonderful way to enhance your quality of life while improving safety and wellbeing. Social interactions have been shown to have a critical impact on life expectancy and overall health and wellbeing. And there are additional benefits to be gained when using a home care agency to find the right person as a companion. Companion caregivers also provide peace of mind to concerned family members who are unable to provide continuous assistance for their loved ones.
We help you gain confidence in your daily life by providing assistance for a range of tasks which may include:
- Medication Reminders
- Light Housekeeping/Laundry
- Meal Preparation
- Transportation for Errands/Appointments
At Eden Home Care, we understand the special challenges of older adults who suffer from Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia or memory loss and the stress this places on family caregivers. It is important that a patient’s routines are maintained in a comfortable, safe, and familiar environment. It is also important to have experienced caregivers who have been trained to compassionately manage behaviors such as agitation, wandering, mental confusion, and other conditions associated with dementia. We are committed to offering long term caregiver relationships, for consistency and emotional bonding, to provide comfort and companionship. Our caregivers often feel as though they have become members of the family.
A caregiver, who is a certified dementia specialist with advanced dementia training, is hand-selected to provide care and receives individualized instruction from the care manager on specific needs on an ongoing basis. A care plan is created that includes tasks and activities to create a meaningful and enjoyable day.
Regular follow-up visits are performed by the care manager to re-assess the current level of dementia, making changes to activities according to the results. Each family will receive access to education and personalized training from our care managers.
Home care services can also be used as a source of respite for family or caregivers. Many family caregivers take pride in the care they provide to their loved ones, but the physical, mental, and emotional demands of caring for a family member can be overwhelming at times. Caregiving is a difficult job and very few people are equipped to do it alone. Getting help is essential for your health, which is critical for your loved one.
Whether it’s for a few hours or a long vacation, Eden Home Care can provide the support and relief needed. Respite care can relieve stress, restore energy, and promote the necessary life balance.
There are a number of options for respite support. We will often arrange for a free in-home evaluation to discuss the type and length of respite care needed, and a plan of service will be developed.
Having a loved one with dementia is often more difficult on the family than it is for the individual. Eden Home Care caregivers receive specialty training on dementia to ensure that your loved one is provided with care that is individual to their needs.
