Kristina Wood
Director of Clinical Operations
Kristina Wood joined the nursing field after moving to Washington from the Pacific Northwest. She got her career start as a science teacher, but after having moved and realizing she didn’t want to return to the public school system, she received inspiration from a nurse to return to school, only this time for nursing. Her motivations lied in science, medicine and taking care of others so this was a perfect path in her eyes. Home health and hospice became her new passion when she joined Eden Health in 2014. The two specializations allowed her to work with people in their homes where they felt comfortable and to give them the tools to be able to stay home through whichever health journey they were on. Kristina loved growing with Eden Health, using her education background and nursing in the same place. She started in the home health field as a RN Case Manager, later becoming an EMR trainer/preceptor, then a performance improvement coordinator, and finally an Assistant Director of Patient Care Services at Eden Home Health of Bellingham. Then, after helping with Elk Grove’s acquisition, she became the RN Clinical Informaticist where she vetted new EHR systems and learned more about the back-office pieces that helped run clinical operations. Her role grew and morphed throughout that project, but when all was said and done and new needs brought to light, she became the Regional Clinical Manager, allowing her to work more closely with the agency’s clinical leaders and Director of Clinical Operations at the time. Eventually, that director moved on and through the encouragement of now-COO Jamie Brown, she took on the role, nervous but confident in her love for her job – for ensuring patients received the best care they could, for teaching her colleagues, and for building an agency she would be proud to enroll her family and loved-ones in. In Kristina’s off time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, two grown sons, dog, 11 chickens, herd of Guinea Pigs, and her extended family. She also loves reading, going to Marvel movies with her family, and spending time being active outside either by swimming or hiking and more recently, paddle boarding.

Robert Martin
Director of Operations (West)
Robert began working with Eden in 2014 with the acquisition of the home health agency he was working for at the time. Prior to that he worked with a couple of different home health agencies in Bellingham, WA for seven years. He graduated from The University of Montana in 1994 and was a physical therapist in hospital based outpatient and inpatient settings, ultimately moving into Rehabilitation Management for two different hospitals on Whidbey Island, WA and in Port Townsend, WA. Around 2007 he wanted to live in Bellingham, so he took a home health job in order to make the move. He never looked back, finding his true calling in this field. "Eden has allowed me to blend my love for patient care with my background in management," he said. "I consider myself extremely fortunate to be part of this family."

Paul Johnson
Director of Operations (East)
Paul Johnson started working in healthcare immediately after graduating, accepting a job working with adolescents as a guide for Outward Bound. He continued working in behavioral health for about 20 years, managing several adolescent treatment programs. “I loved the work as I was able to participate in the treatment of entire families and witness incredible growth and recovery,” said Paul. It wasn’t until 2012 when he joined the home health sector by opening a home health company in his hometown of Sandpoint, ID. He was drawn to the concept of caring for people in their own homes while allowing clinicians to spend the time needed to provide excellent care. His relationship with Eden Healthcare Management began when he was offered a position as an Executive Director in 2017 for an agency in Bellingham, WA. After two years of working with Eden and seeing the impressive work they do, he decided to sell them his company. The acquisition reinforced his belief in Eden as they were able to retain all his employees and offer support he never could have as an owner and operator. Now, as Director of Operations for Eden, he supports home health and hospice agencies in five states. Paul likes to spend his free time outdoors with his family on their farm or on old wooden boats. He welcomes opportunities to learn and enjoys opportunities to travel to new areas to broaden his perspective.

Heidi Olsen
Home Care Director of Operations
Heidi Olsen started her healthcare journey as a CNA in a skilled nursing facility. For the next 10 years, she worked in facilities, adult family homes and home cares. She had her son and put herself through school while working 12-hour night shifts. She received her certificate in medical billing and coding, but it would be two years more until she was finally able to land a job coding and obtaining authorizations for a home health agency in Vancouver. She was finally able to move past her CNA, a goal she had set seven years prior. After a year of coding OASIS and obtaining authorizations for services, she was contacted by a previous supervisor to apply for a job with Eden. This is when her career moved into the fast lane. She was hired in 2014 for intake, promoted to supervisor within a year, absorbed the billing department and became the revenue cycle manager a year or two later. More years passed and she was longing to get back into home care as it was her previous career goal to manage her own home care agency. She was given the opportunity to move to Nevada to be the General Manager for Eden Home Care of Carson City. She learned a lot in Nevada and became close to many people still working there today. Now, she is back in the Vancouver area and working as the Director of Operations for Home Care. "Eden has invested in me and my growth time and time again," she said. "It is only with excellent mentorship, ongoing support and a culture of growth that I am the leader you see today. Everyday I am thankful for the people that have inspired and supported me along the way and for the opportunity to serve our communities by doing what I love!"

Stephen Sande
Director of Information Technology
Stephen Sande and his wife, Katie, have two kids and a dog named Yeti who loves to steal socks. He enjoys spending time with the family, playing games, being outdoors, or relaxing with a good book. Little did he know at the time but the path for his career started as a teenager when his brother asked him to join him in learning how to program so they could build a computer game together. They came up against challenges and frustrations but the rewards from finding solutions to the small problems and the anticipation of a working game kept them going. While computer coding is not where his IT carrier ended up, the lessons from that experience were valuable to Stephen. Over and over again in his career, he has found joy in problem solving, learning new things, being creative, working with others and serving others. It is the serving others is by far the most rewarding aspect of his job.
