Susie May
Business Office Manager
Susanne “Susie” May, Business Office Manager, has been with Eden Home Health and Hospice of Arizona for over two years. She comes to Eden with a background in customer service where she gained the understanding of how important it is to put people first. Susie gained interest in working in the health profession during the pandemic and wanted to have an impact on helping patients get the care they need. She began her career with Eden as a Medical Records Custodian and was promoted to Business Office Manager in a short period of time. She often states that she has been able to not only work in a place where she can help not only patients, but also help the team have what they need to succeed.

Services
Pain and Symptom Management
Eden Hospice understands that the experience of someone diagnosed with end-stage cardiac disease is very different than that of someone with cancer or pulmonary disease. That’s why we offer symptom management to control symptoms and promote comfort. No matter what the disease or diagnosis, we believe in improving the quality of life when quantity is limited.
Eden Health's Medical Directors focus on symptom management and will work with your primary doctors to order appropriate medications. Our philosophy embraces the idea of relieving your pain and other symptoms so that you are in control of your own comfort. The goal is to make you or your loved one as comfortable as possible.
Supplies and Equipment
Eden Hospice will manage the ordering and delivery process of the necessary equipment.

The contracted facility will provide care with the hospice interdisciplinary members to continue making visits and maintain emergency/crisis availability.
RESPITE CARE FOR YOUR CAREGIVER MAY HELP PREVENT:
- Burn-out
- Depression
- Stress, Illness, and Reduced Immunity due to Lack of Sleep
Bereavement Care
Bereavement care is an essential component of hospice care that includes anticipating grief reactions and providing ongoing support for the bereaved for a year or more after your loved one has passed.
Grieving and mourning are normal. You may experience grief as a mental, physical, social, or emotional reaction. Mental reactions can include anger, guilt, anxiety, sadness, and despair. Physical reactions can include sleeping problems, changes in appetite, physical problems, or illness. At Eden Hospice, we are committed to providing information, counseling, and resources for any reaction you may experience.
Each of us takes their own journey through grief and healing. Allow yourself to open up to the idea that not every person experiences and deals with the loss of a loved one in the same way. As there are many cultural and or religious practices supported in communities to help those facing loss, understand that there is no “one way” or “one plan” that can work for everybody.
HOSPICE BEREAVEMENT PROGRAMS FOCUS ON:
- Helping family members understand and move forward in the grief process by enabling their expression of thoughts and feelings and helping them identify or develop healthy coping strategies.
- Helping families problem-solve around adjustment issues.
- Providing guidance about decision-making.
- Addressing social and spiritual concerns.
- Assisting survivors to adapt to an environment without the deceased.
RESPITE CARE FOR YOUR CAREGIVER MAY HELP PREVENT:
- Burn-out
- Depression
- Stress, Illness, and Reduced Immunity due to Lack of Sleep

What do they say about Eden Hospice of Safford?
All the people that Hospice provided were very professional, considerate, compassionate. I hold all of the Hospice personnel in high regards. They made my experience much more tolerable. Thank you!
I am so thankful for everything Hospice did for us from day one to my father's passing and their continued support. We would have never made it through the dying process of a loved one without their amazing support and assistance.
Eden Hospice was exceptional. Our nurse went well above and beyond what was expected. I'd not have made it through this process without her. What a blessing she was.
The Eden Hospice group were extremely caring and compassionate. They helped make such a difficult time much easier to get through.
